Torrington Downtown Partners has been very
involved with the arts scene downtown. We are collaborating with the
Torrington Arts and Culture Commission to provide gallery space for
Artspace at 29 Main Street. Shown at left is the Curator of the Department of Painting and Sculpture at The Museum of Modern Art at the gallery with some members of the Artspace team. Torrington Downtown Partners has also been involved in moving Artwell Gallery from a Water Street location to 41 Main Street where there will be an adjacent brand new art supply store. | Torrington Downtown Partners was pleased that the Litchfield Hills Film Festival relocated to Torrington in 2012. The festival directors showed films at the Warner Theater, at City Hall and at a pop-up theater set up at our space at 75 Main Street. Torrington Downtown Partners welcomes our new tenant - Left Brain Games,
who opened
business at their new location on the second floor at 49 Main Street,
which is on northwest corner of Main St. and Water St. This company
develops web games, virtual worlds, applications for Facebook, education
products and corporate training.

the Singer/Songwriter Network of
Torrington to bring more music to downtown!
We are proud to have been one of the sponsors of the February 8 Connecticut theater premiere of the movie "The Innkeepers" at the Warner Theatre. This movie was filmed entirely in Torrington and features the Yankee Pedlar Inn.
We are honored to have been named Register Citizen Persons of the Year.
We are pleased to be included in a June 21 article in the Register-Citizen about Downtown's New Energy.
. Torrington Downtown Partners is a proud supporter of Torrington's community radio station, WAPJ - FM. You can now listen to WAPJ online or on the radio at 89.9 FM and 105.1 FM where you can hear live broadcasts of Torrington Titans baseball games. Torrington Downtown Partners is a proud supporter of the Titans who have their office at 55 Main Street.
Torrington Downtown Partners was proud to support Main Street Marketplace which was held open on 9 Thursday nights from 5 - 9 pm beginning June 30. As part of the June 30 opening night Torrington Downtown Partners hosted an open house at its newly renovated apartment at 31 Water Street. Erin Covey of the Republican-American produced a video about this apartment.
Lisa Kidder of the Home Builders Association of Connecticut visited the
newly renovated apartment at 31 Water Street on June 1. She is seen in the photo
at right standing below the Energy Star bath fan and next to the dual flush toilet.
The new black and white tile floor was supplied and installed by
Weigold
Flooring. The Kohler toilet and bathroom sinks were supplied by
Bender Showrooms. The Moen faucets as well as the vanity, medicine cabinets and
bathtub were also supplied by Bender Showrooms. The photo below
shows the new kitchen with cabinetry, kitchen sink and faucet from
Bender Showrooms, countertops from Chamberlain Granite,
interior doors from Torrington Lumber Company,
the Energy Star rated hanging light fixture supplied by
Electrical Wholesalers and appliances,
including the Energy Star rated refrigerator, from

A new professional theater group, Fifth Letter Productions, led by Elizabeth Erwin (Hartford Stage, Ivoryton Playhouse) and Ed Walsh (American Repertory Theater, Stamford Theatreworks) staged the play "The Last Train to Nibroc" at the former Odd Fellows Lodge on Water Street. Torrington Downtown Partners is pleased to have been selected by Connecticut Main Street Center as its 2011 award winner for "Emerging Main Street Partner". The award was presented on June 6 at the awards gala at the Warner Theatre.
